What Cow and Chicken Means To Me

If you were a child in the 90s, there's a chance you watched Cartoon Network in its early days. This channel got its start broadcasting a library of animated shorts from Warner Bros and MGM respectively; as well as Hanna Barbera's vast programming. But it wasn't long till the channel started creating its own original programming, their first wave of shows was called the 'Cartoon Cartoons'. One of these shows that helped build their empire was Cow and Chicken. The show was about these interspecies siblings, who would be put into various scenarios. But as each episode goes on, these situations would get crazier, they would often have encounters with a devil called the Red Guy. This was a show I watched a lot on the channel as a child, there was something to its characters and settings I adored. However, as my interests shifted away from it, I would want more out of the kid's shows I watched; but is there something about it that people are forgetting to appreciate?

On the surface, the stories might seem nonsensical, you might even think they sound absurd. I mean a 

young calf has a fully grown udder, and a boy fowl is called 'chicken'. But that's just the type of bizarre logic that the show lives by. By removing realism, it can make for more interesting stories. If you're willing to buy surreal ideas like talking farm animals eating pork butt and potatoes for dinner, you can buy this too. As long as it can pull you in with its bizarre logic and antics with the relatability of its characters. The lines are delivered in a way that gives the stories their own spice and flavour. The show also contains gross-out humour, I may have criticised other shows for using that brand of humour, but it works here. A lot of it involves meat products, as well as innuendo. People often compare its comedy to 'Ren and Stimpy', but I feel the show offers its own approach to that style of humour. I'd dare say this show did a better job with this trend of grotesque wackiness. I was worried that it wasn't the masterpiece I remember it to be. The gross-out doesn't bother me much as it's not the main focus, the real meat of the story is how it plays with tropes and your expectations. I love the show so much I don't question its logic or sanity. But the way it pushes things to an extreme also applies to how it's drawn. The designs on the characters and backgrounds give them a distinctive style, the features make them look strange, but they fit with the world they live in. The movements on the characters don't go overly surreal, there's a weight and restraint to the fluidity that make the motion and physical humour effective. It's really the comedy and stories that carry the visuals.

Looking back, the two lead characters have such a strong dynamic. Cow may be overly cheery and optimistic but she can also get emotionally attached to certain characters. She's always looking out for her older brother, despite all the pain and mayhem she puts him through. But she also has a superhero identity to help out those in need. Chicken is the more cynical and aggressive protagonist in contrast. His attitude and manic energy is reflective of young boys. His reactions to the character's stupidity and to his setting make him the straight man, he is able to work off Cow extremely well. But I think the character everyone remembers the most is The Red Guy. He makes for a comical antagonist who likes to mess with our main characters, as he serves as the catalyst for the situations. He appears in a wide variety of personas depending on the story, it's always interesting to see how his schemes turn out. His deviousness is a joy. What makes him so funny and memorable is his flamboyant mannerisms and fierce remarks, part of that comes from Charlie Adler's voice performance; he's able to give off such a vociferous range when portraying these characters. The supporting characters also have their share of funny moments, like the human parents who are seen from the waist down. There's also the main character's cousin, Boneless Chicken who has a deprecating sense of humour; he doesn't let his handicap hold him back. 

It is one of the funniest TV shows of the late 90s, without a doubt, it showed David Feiss as a pioneer in the field of animation. It's shows like Cow and Chicken that prove that they don't necessarily need to be deep or complex or have story arcs to be great. You just have to be good at what you do, and what this cartoon does is make me laugh. And if you can tell engaging stories and portray compelling characters that'll draw you in while also making people laugh; that's an impressive feat. Coming back to this show made me see how humour can be just as important a factor. It's worth going back to for some bonafide laughs. 

But the question remains, would I replace Gravity Falls on my favourite animated shows list for this? Well, while Cow and Chicken has been in my life longer than that show has, Gravity Falls just has the right balance of humour and lore. Gravity Falls may contain details and plot points for the viewers to decipher, but you can tell the makers of C&C tried to connect to a specific sense of humour. Dipper and Mabel may have a similar dynamic, but they're fleshed out throughout, but that doesn't make the ones from C&C any less charming or well written. It also has ambiguously LGBT characters, but C&C had ones long before, in a banned episode may I add. Gravity Falls did open up to mystery and world building for children, C&C did the same for mine and other people's sense of humour by presenting a wild part of it. Well, depending on what mood I'm in, I could like one or the other either way. 

What is "Goodbye to Lucien and Wayne?"

As you all know I'm a Cramp Twins fanboy, it seems like just yesterday I saw the first episode on Cartoon Network and from that moment on it has been one of my favourite animated programs. So imagine how I felt when it meet it's end in 2005, but that doesn't matter because Cartoon Network could still make cartoons I mean whats the worse that could happen.......................

Yes like everyone else I have a grudge on the media for ending the Cramp Twins too soon, while I think it was all because of 4Kids I kind of blame CN for picking 4kid's side. Since then veteran cartoonist Brian Wood retired animation for reasons unknown, never to be heard of until I wrote my article "Whatever Happened to Brian Wood" (lets hope people saw that) The Cramp Twins have lived their afterlife in obsurity. But thanks to the internet, we the fans have managed to keep the memories of this show alive thus making it a cult hit along with Sheep in The Big City and Santo Bugito.

Now like every francise of production there has been propagander revolving around The Cramp Twins so you might have noticed there have rumors of a certain "lost episode" In my "Top 10 Shows Never Ended" list, I mentioned that there was something about a missing episode called "Goodbye to Lucien and Wayne" Now this has been on Wikipedia for ages and while I consider that website as "propagander" it makes me wonder. I mean were they really gonna end with a finale or is this another conspiracy? there were also recent rumors of a new series that was to suppose to come after this episode and prehaps a spin-off even.

Just imagine if Mari got her own show but I don't think a cartoon about a socially awkward girl who has to deal with her demented foster family would be "good ratings" material. Well at least it would be               more interesting to watch than anything thats on Cartoon Network now.

Anyway I just want to ask what was this "lost episode" anyway and why would CN keep us from seeing it if it did existed. Well whatever the reason and whether it exists or not I for one would love to see it for myself, if it's the final curtainl to the terrible twins then I could only imagine how great it could have been. I'm so interested I even wrote to Cartoon Network asking if they can air it to celebrate the show's tenth aniversery (if they have it at least) Even if there's no animation they could at least tell me where I could find the actual recording so I could post it on YouTube.

Whats also intriguing about this rumor is the name of the episode "Goodbye to Lucien and Wayne" now you cant really tell if the name alone is real. I mean it sounds like someone made it up but if the Angry Beavers had a lost episode with the word "goodbye" then there must be a connection. After all both shows are about brothers and they both have missing episodes so maybe they were both cancelled for the same reason. Another thing about the name of this episode is "what did it actually mean?" Was it about the Cramp Twins moving away to a different city? or was it a metaphor for the show coming to a conclusion so there would no way of coming back. Or maybe, maybe they were gonna kill off both Lucien and Wayne. If that's true then it would have blown everyone's mind, to end a show with it's main protagonists dying would have been a dark and mature way and would've left an impact on children's animation. I mean think about it people.

Whatever ending this show was going for "Goodbye to Lucien and Wayne" would have been an epic conclusion to such an enjoyable program. I'm just sad it never aired or never made, either way I sure hope the producers will re-create this episode, with newer animation; I'm waiting! Top 10 Shows That Never Ended

Hello there, guess what I decided to make another top 10 list but before we can start counting down I just want to explain some thing about television. We all watch tv don't we and there's always a show we watch that becomes apart of our past time, so it's such an inconvinience  when a certain show ends too early. As there are shows that bid the viewers farwell there are some shows that just end without warning or a big season finale, there are even those shows that end on cliffhangers. I have had a grudge with this sort of problem for a long time now which is why I'm counting down the top 10 shows that were left unfinished. Oh BTW I'm not counting Dexter's Laboratory because that show actually had a series finale and a movie; it just that it had 2 seasons afterwards that took place before the finale.

10. Santo Bugito

For those who don't know, Santo Bugito was a cartoon series about a Mexican town filled of talking insects, it revolved around these 2 married bugs called Paco and Carmen. The show was extremley under-rated and only lasted 13 episodes, to be truthful it's a very good show but I can see why it only lasted a few episodes but anyway it's still a forgotten gem worth checking out.

9.Stupid!

Just to let you know this show was from the UK which is where I'm from, so some of you would probably be baffled. The show took place in this mythical world where emotions are controlled by a different monarchs; in this case the main characters were the King of Stupidy himself and his annoying gremlin butler Goober.
The premise of this show was about how King Stupid would control the actions of innocent people using his advance computer system to make them do utterly idioctic things which cut to a series of sketches of the unfortunate victims. For example there would be a girl who think she's a lawer, or a boy who thought he could turn invisable, there was also one were a Scout Master who would make his campers get back at his ex-wife's new boyfriend (or Fancy man as the scout master calls him) and who could forget the Devil Finger sketch where a 11 year old boy thinks his finger is pocessed by the forces of evil. The sketches were either recurring or minor.

This show wasn't really one of my favourites so it doesn't hold up for me but it did have some funny moments right? So why is it on the list? The most controversal episode in my opinion was the last epsiode.
When a young girl actually makes a discovery of king Stupid, the king become concerned so he makes her act silly just to keep everyone from believing her. Later King Stupid transports her to his universe where she records everything that King Stupid does with her phone; with that she tries to mail the data to the news crew but King Stupid fights for the phone and the episode ends with the data being sent to the media leaving the viewers to wait for the next episode. Unfortunetly the show was cancelled after that making this the last episode; what's really annoying about this show is that it ended on a cliff hanger which is another reason why I don't like this show that much. Anyway for a show that lived up to it's name, Stupid was just a show that ended way too soon.

8. Robotboy
  Now I'll be honest this show didn't really leave much an impact on me but when it first aired,it was good to watch right? For some reason not many people liked this show but like I said before it was good when it first aired so it wasn't exactley bad. It was about 10 year old Tommy Turnball who is given the invention of famous scienctist Professor Moshino, RobotBoy to keep safe from the evil scienctist Dr Kamikazi who wants the robot to take over the world (Bison: OF COURSE!)
So it's up to Robotboy to save the world from Kamikazi's crutches.

Now the show's last episode wasn't much of a finale because it was just about Kamikazi seeing his grandma nothing special really; I mean couldn't they've had a big series finale like in Dexter's Lab. But I digress this show didn't last that long and it shows really.

7.Clone High

I've only started checking out this series on You Tube more recently and I got to say it's quite good. The show was about a high school of teens who are genetic clones of famous people in history like Abraham Lincoln, Cleopatra, Joan of Arc and so forth. The series was basically an animated sicom for more older and more mature viewers. It was made by the same duo who would later make the film adaption to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. The reason why it's on the list is because it only lasted for one season and it ended on a cliffhanger but that doesn't mean it's gaining a cult following. In case you're wondering why it's so low on the list well like I said I only started seeing it recently and although it's not one I would sink my teeth into; needless to say Clone High is an experiment which would have lasted longer and actually worth looking at.

6.Sonic the Hedgehog (AKA Sonic SatAM)

Unlike the wacky and surreal Sonic cartoon, Sonic SatAM was an edgy gripping cartoon series that put everyone's favourite hedgehog in a more darker post-apocalyptic setting with lots of action to boot. One of the problems this show had was that it too ended too soon on a cliffhanger. I think this sort of thing that happens to most cartoons based on video games but it would later spawn new shows revolving Sonic (although most people don't like the later shows as much) So anyway Sonic SatAM is a show worth checking out even for those who are not Sonic fans.

5. Dungeons and Dragons

I think alot of people remember this show it was about a group of kids who get sucked into the Realm of Dungeons and Dragons by taking a ride on an amusement roller coaster. So it's up to the kids to find their way back to the real world by fighting mystical creatures and going through dangerous quests. The show wasn't much to me but alot people liked it though. The biggest upset to this show is that the children never went back to the real world they just stayed in the realm forever; though there was originally gonna be a forth season and prehaps a big season finale but unfortunetly the show got canned so pretty much the kids got screwed.



4.Hihi Puffy Ami Yumi

 What can I say about this show, it was retro, it was colourful and it was alot of fun. Based on Puffy Ami Yumi the real japenese rock/pop group this show had a variety of style and stories to keep us entertained which made it one of the last good shows on Cartoon Network. However the show was canned after only 3 seasons, there were final episodes made but they never aired them. Despite this Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi was a good show that faced the music too soon.

3.Sheep in the Big City

Sheep in the Big City was about a sheep simply named Sheep for runs away from his home on the farm to live in the surburban city street. While there he faces strange episodes as he tries to hide from the milatary, a little girl and Lady Richinton. This show was filled lots of hilarious gags and was an homage to tthe Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. Although the show never had a great season finale to let the series go off with a bang Sheep in The Big City will always be one of the baaaest cartoons of the 2000s, which would have had a better ending.  


2. The Cramp Twins

Again I'm putting the Cramp Twins on my top 10 list but I'm a Cramp Twins fanboy so there shouldn't be any complaining. I already mentioned why I like this show a few times in my blog so it shows. But if theres any thing that ticks me off about this show was that it didn't last very long, there was no season finale to explain any of the aspects that we wanted to know which makes me wonder why shows like this get cancelled so quickly. I quess originally there was originally going to be a finale called "Goodbye to Lucien and Wayne" (or something like that) which would have been a epic episode but nooooooooo! Alike all these other shows Cramp Twins was a show that deserved more respect from the network which resulted in it being layed to rest. I hope people will remember this show for what it was; maybe someday someone will be inspired to create a reamke of this.

And the #1 that was yet to end is.....................................................................................................

 1.Samurai Jack

 Now everyone watched this show at one point in their childhood and enjoyed it and so did I. Filled with action packed thrills, timeless animation, a catchy theme song and a great main character Samurai Jack was simply a show you wouldn't want to missed. Looking back at this show it was top-notch for it's time but if theres anything that this show didn't have; it was a big series finale. When the show got cancelled we never saw Jack return to the past so the fans had to figure that one out on their own. However with a Samurai Jack movie coming out there might be a chance to see the epic conclusion we've been waiting for.

So there you have it, all ten tv shows that were either cancelled in the middle of a climax or just were just canned for no apparent reason. Now I dont think low ratings were the reason for these show ending so soon, I guess it wasprobably due to complications. While I do say out all these shows Stupid, Dungeons & Dragons and Robotboy were my least favourites but even the least likable shows needed a finale or something to set the record straight. Lets hope in the future a show will not end on a cliff hanger or something like that and instead let it end on something to remember.

Support the Development of The Vaughan Boys

You know during the late 2000s, animation hasn't really been at it's strongest, with more CGI features and tv cartoons being either mostly juvenile or just boring and descent animators careers being crudely over shadowed, theres really no helping them. However things have turned around for the better with such animated features like Disney's The Princess and the Frog, The Adventures of Tintin, Rango and Fantastic Mr Fox; we've even seen more great animated projects like Adventure Time, the debut of talented new animators, the improvement of the my little pony francise and the return of the Looney Tunes, Beavis and Butthead and Gorillaz. But what I really want to talk about today is a certain british cartoon that is probadly under development right now, that cartoon is called The Vaughan Boys.

Now normally I wouldn't be hyped or that supportive over this sort of thing but while I looking through the web recently and I found this picture out of curiosity and was suprised to know that this was a product developed by Brian Wood and Andrew Brenner, the same people behind the Cramp Twins. Now I have praised the Cramp Twins in my previous blog posts and I've talked about Brian Wood and his previous works.
According to Brenner's website it's suppose to be about a family of mostly brothers which sounds pretty promisng to be honest. I've only just found this on Andrew Brenners website and must say it doesn't really look like Wood's style (for the moment) but I'm sure they will make it more like Cramp Twins; after all this picture is just a rough prototype right.

I have two reasons why this show should be put into development and why it should be greenlighted

1. It has been years since cartoonist Brian Wood has made another product. I think of this show to be the perfect opportunity for Wood to return to animation as he has disapered for a long time.

2. The Vaughan Boys could possibly be the revival of Cartoon Network's co-european production line as Angelo Rules wasn't that good a show. It would also be the thing that CN UK needs to redeem themselves.

So here are my reasons on why I think The Vaughan Boys should be greenlighted or put into development, Andrew Brenner has stated that Cartoon Network UK has considered making a pilot of it. Personally I dont care if it's good or bad or if they just make one episode i just want to see Brian Wood make a comeback as it's been so long since we've seen a recent product by him.

My top 10 Favourite Animated Shows

Cartoons, what can we say about them accept they are creative, funny, energetic, beyond comprehensible and they what made our childhood so great. Whatever era you grew up in there was always a cartoon that you either love or hated and all the best cartoons came out during our childhood. Me as being an animation fan myself would like to count down the cartoon I loved back than and always will.

10. Cow and Chicken

, It had an original style of writting, humor, characters and definatley one of those shows you wouldn't want to forget. The show was about a young cow named well Cow and her brother called of course Chicken who would get into seroius mischief and come across a Devil called The Red Guy. Every kid in the 90s loved this show including me and was definatley one of those cartoons that felt new and nostalgic at the same time. Probably in the future I would introduce this show to my children so they like this show just as much as I did.

 9. Star Wars Clone Wars  

Not to be confused with the new cgi Star wars the clone wars show that is on now, this show had a different style of animation, writting and amibence and it is way better by comparison. Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky who created other cartoons I watched in my childhood like Dexters Lab and Samurai Jack, this show was actually very good for an action orinated cartoon, not only because I love Star Wars with a passion but because it was so close to Star Wars 2 and 3 and that the character designs actually look better than in the cgi version. 

I really liked this show as a child because to me it was the real animated Star Wars.

8. Foster Home for Imaginary Friends

Now as a kid I was into this show and looking back now I can see why, because it was new, clever, and well animated at the time. The characters like Mac, Bloo, Wilt, Edwardo, Coco, Frankie, Madam Foster, Cheese and Goo were executed well and the humor was good for both kids and adults to enjoy.

My favourite epsiode was "Good Wilt Hunting" where Wilt runs away and our favourite characters go off to find him. And the other episode are very memorable too. Out of all the cartoon network shows of the early 2000s this was definatly one of the most colourful and original series ever.

7. Tom and Jerry Kids Show 

Now i flipping love Tom and Jerry, I mean who doesn't and out of all the products  to have spin off from this franchise this was definatley the most memorable and most closet to it's processor. People have always made

a series that would show a classic cartoon character what they were like when they were young and this was certainly the bestest.

  The stories were great, the character acted like themselves, the animation is as good as it was than and the theme song was pretty catchy too. I loved to watch this as a littlen and watching it now really brings backs some happy memories. Not only did this show had Tom and Jerry it also showed new episodes of Droopy (which is another MGM cartoon). If you love the Tom and Jerry cartoon than why dont you check this show out because its closest thing you'll ever see to the MGM shorts and to a 90s toon.

6.Shakespeare-The Animated Tales  

For those who havent heard of this, Shakespare the animated tales was a series on the BBC that showcased some of William Shakespeares greatest plays and interpertated them into beautifully animated materpieces. Using different varieties of animation like stop motion or hand drawn this concept was made possible by under-rated animators from around the world bringing plays like Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth and Hamlet to life in the same way Disney did to fairy tales. 

I guess you're probadly wondering how I got into this show in the first place, well when I was 9 and I was wondering through my local library till I found a video tape of one of the epsiodes "Romeo and Juliet". I was getting into Shakespeare so I watched it and from that moment on I was toally hooked. In fact at my school my teacher showed episodes of this series when we were learning Shakespeare. I loved this series so much I got the dvd collection, overall it was such a under-rated program with such elegant styles of animation, the voices fit the characters perfectly and the apmosphere is just as wonderful too.  

5. Fairly Odd Parents 

Talk about originality and a surprise hit with everyone. The show revolves around Timmy Turner a ten year old boy who is constantley toutured by his evil babysitter Vicky and has two magical fairies Cosmo and Wanda to be on his side. Timmy's fairies grant him every wish he wants whether its going back in time, turning invisable, superhero parents and even Christmas everyday. What I found interesting about this show when I first saw it was that the idea of a cartoon about fairy god parents sounded interesting to me but it wasn't girly like Winx club it was winsical funny and surreal like in fantasy films. After this show had a hiatus in 2007 it got a new character called Poof who is Cosmo and Wanda's baby, now alot of the old fans don't like the newer episodes but I don't mind them at all. Infact I can still watch the old episodes even now; but with a live action movie coming to the UK, I'm having a bit of mixed feelings whether it'll be good or not.

4. Spongebob Squarepants

Now who doesn't love this quirky little sponge we cant help to laugh at the nartical nonscence that he gets up to. After 10 years Spongebob has been the longest running nicktoon delighting children of all ages. My friends was a Spongebob fan my cousin was a Spongebob fan and I started becoming a fan as soon as it became popular. With a great cast of characters and timeless epsiodes and hilarious quotes like "I DEFY YOU HEARTMAN!!", "CHOCOLATE!!" "Have you finished those errands?", "Barnacles", "Fishpaste!" and "NO! This is PATRICK!!" we all cant help to admire it's randomness and quirky animation to re-live a part of our childhood. Nowadays 50% of all Spongebob fans think Spongebob has lost it's way but thats not how I think of the new epsiodes. As long as Spongebob is around I'll always find plessure watching the old and new episodes and I highly recommand this cartoon to anyone who likes animal cartoons (did I forget to mention the movie was awesome!).

3. The Cramp Twins

Now this cartoon was the greatest, who ever thought this cartoon would be so well done. Now before you haters start bashing me just because it wasn't as popular or as wacky as all those other cartoons I was actually one of those few who found it entertaining and gripping. It makes sense that its an under-rated children's show based on such a under-rated children's novel but that how simplictic a show can get. 

The show was about Wayne and Lucien Cramp, two twins with absolutly nothing in common Wayne was an aggressive jerk who just loved junk and sugary treats and Lucien was a peace loving nerd who loved nature and art (I can so relate to him). This show would centure around the siblin revalary of these two and how they would deal with problems like school, saving the swamp, girls, being the best at everything and many more adventures; so you can concider them as the Tweedledum and Tweedledee of cartoons.

The only problem I had with this show was why the f was it cancelled. I mean it happens to alot of kids shows but this show had endless possibilities and deserved to be treated better. The show had great characters, great animation, great plots and it had a great cast of voice actors and they just threw it out like yeasterdays trash, Jesus!!! what has this world come to?

2. The Simpsons

What I can say about the Simpsons everyone loves them and I love them too. It's the longest running family cartoon since the Flintstones and over the years it gone stronger and stronger through the years with its whitty story lines, great jokes, incredible timing, lovable characters, cool art style, pop culture refrences which makes it one of the greatest sitcoms on today.
 Whats not to like about this show I mean Homer is hilarious, Marge is relatible, Bart''s a rebal, Lisa is smart and kind hearted and Maggie is just so loveable. Not to mention all the other supporting characters are great too there are even guest stars that just pop out of no where seriously. The show also has funny and memorable quotes like "No beer and no tv make Homer something something", "Hmmm doughnuts!", "Thats a Paddling", "Thank you come again", "my eyes the goggles do nothing!" and so forth.
I can never stop loving the Simpsons, it's no wonder this show hasn't gone off the air and I hope to see more of our favourite yellow family in the future.

1. Ed Edd n Eddy

I just had to make it #1 on this list because it's just so off the wall amazing. Ed Edd n Eddy is about 3 young boys who spend the whole summer attemping to scam kids out of their allowences to buy Jawbreakers.Ed is the stupid big guy who often wrecks the other boys attemp to make money, Edd (aka Double Dee) is the gentle genius who is also the brains behind the plots he can be too spiffy and he can also get frustrated at time, and theres Eddy the leader with the Napolian complex to make up these crazy scams and has an obsession for jawbreakers, hes greedy and no one else likes him but we cant help but to like him. 

And theres the other supporting characters like Johnny, Plank, Kevin, Sarah, Jimmy, Nazz, the Kanker Sisters and my favourite Rolf who are fully dimensional and great in their own unique way. Is it any wonder why I love this show, I mean we dont even see the grown up characters which makes this show as a homage to the Peanuts/Charly Brown cartoons.

Now when this show first came out I didn't think I would love it so much but the more I watched the more I fell in love with it. I mean it has great animation, great characters, great stories and great lines which I like to repeat in my social life like "summer rains you can never predict them" or "my least is raising" and so forth. So yeah it wasn't as big a phenomian as Spongebob but it had a huge fanbase ( To be honest I thinks its better than Spongebob in my opinion) also its Cartoon Network's greatet and most memorable masterpiece to date. 

So that was my top 10 favourite animated programmes and I've hope it have brought back alot of memories for all your cartoon lovers I bet you have alot cartoons that you keep close to your heart. All I can say now is......THATS ALL FOLKS
